REGISTER HERE Tour Presenters: Taylor McNamee (McElhanney) Krista Renwick (City of Calgary) The heart of Kensington received a facelift at the plaza space fronting the iconic Plaza Theatre. The public space improvements to Kensington Plaza were aimed to encourage use of the space as a hub for community gathering and events. The plaza redesign features structural art installations, interactive lighting, and organic shaped seating incorporated within urban street trees. Sustainable initiatives were a primary consideration throughout detailed design, as the site functions to capture surface runoff for distribution to the soil cell system to enable a healthy root system for the new trees to flourish in their urban environment. if you have any questions about this tour or EPLA in general, don't hesitate to email Dryden. industry@aala.ab.ca |
