AALA recognizes four categories of Transfer:
Class 1: Reciprocity from BCSLA or OALA
- Subject to the National Reciprocity Agreement - read more
- Documents Required when you apply as "AALA":
- Letter of Good Standing from BCSLA/OALA
- Complete Online Application
Class 2: Reciprocity within Canada (other provinces)
- Subject to the National Reciprocity Agreement - read more
- If you have 10 years with Stamp you will apply as "AALA" with the following documents:
- Letter of Good Standing submitted by local CSLA Component demonstrating 10 years of good standing;
- Two (2) letters of endorsement from an AALA Member (will accept a CSLA Member under some circumstances)
- Resume / CV
- If you do NOT have 10 years with Stamp, you will apply as "Associate" with the following documents:
- Letter of Good Standing submitted by local CSLA Component
- Proof of successful completion of all four LARE Examinations
- Original Post-Secondary Transcripts
- Resume / CV
Class 3: Transfer from the US
- Documents required when you apply as "AALA":
- Two (2) letters of endorsement from an AALA Member (will accept a CSLA Member under some circumstances)
- CLARB Certification, OR
- Letter of Good Standing Submitted by each board where you hold a license
- Complete Post-Secondary Transcripts
- Proof of successful completion of all four LARE Examinations
Class 4: International Transfers
- Certified Translations of all non-English documents is required.
- If you have 10 years with Stamp you will apply as "AALA" with the following documents:
- Letter of Good Standing from the Nationally Recognized body in your home jurisdiction demonstrating 10 years of good standing;
- Two (2) letters of endorsement from an AALA Member (will accept a CSLA Member under some circumstances)
- Resume / CV
- IQAS or WES review of education
- If you do NOT have 10 years with Stamp, you will apply as "Associate" with the following documents:
- Letter of Good Standing from the Nationally Recognized body in your home jurisdiction
- Proof of successful completion of all four LARE Examinations
- IQAS or WES review of education
- Resume / CV
