AALA recognizes four categories of Transfer:

Class 1: Reciprocity from BCSLA or OALA

  • Subject to the National Reciprocity Agreement - read more
  • Documents Required when you apply as "AALA":
    • Letter of Good Standing from BCSLA/OALA
    • Complete Online Application 

Class 2: Reciprocity within Canada (other provinces)

  • Subject to the National Reciprocity Agreement - read more
  • If you have 10 years with Stamp you will apply as "AALA" with the following documents:
    • Letter of Good Standing submitted by local CSLA Component demonstrating 10 years of good standing;
    • Two (2) letters of endorsement from an AALA Member (will accept a CSLA Member under some circumstances)
    • Resume / CV
       
  • If you do NOT have 10 years with Stamp, you will apply as "Associate" with the following documents: 
    • Letter of Good Standing submitted by local CSLA Component 
    • Proof of successful completion of all four LARE Examinations
    • Original Post-Secondary Transcripts
    • Resume / CV

Class 3: Transfer from the US

  • Documents required when you apply as "AALA":
    • Two (2) letters of endorsement from an AALA Member (will accept a CSLA Member under some circumstances)
    • CLARB Certification, OR
      • Letter of Good Standing Submitted by each board where you hold a license
      • Complete Post-Secondary Transcripts
      • Proof of successful completion of all four LARE Examinations

Class 4: International Transfers

  • Certified Translations of all non-English documents is required.
     
  • If you have 10 years with Stamp you will apply as "AALA" with the following documents:
    • Letter of Good Standing from the Nationally Recognized body in your home jurisdiction demonstrating 10 years of good standing;
    • Two (2) letters of endorsement from an AALA Member (will accept a CSLA Member under some circumstances)
    • Resume / CV
    • IQAS or WES review of education
       
  • If you do NOT have 10 years with Stamp, you will apply as "Associate" with the following documents: 
    • Letter of Good Standing from the Nationally Recognized body in your home jurisdiction
    • Proof of successful completion of all four LARE Examinations
    • IQAS or WES review of education
    • Resume / CV
