Project Bio: The Century Gardens Park Project is a redevelopment project with The City of Calgary Parks. Century Gardens is a recognized Municipal Historic Resource and was originally developed in 1975 to celebrate the centenary of Calgary’s founding. The Consultant-Client team collaborated with internal and external stakeholder groups to develop a conceptual design solution that invites people to use the park year-round for unstructured and small programmed events. The design preserves and restores the character-defining southwest and north fountain elements. The redeveloped park includes two new Pavilion buildings that bookend the existing and historical fountain structure. These Pavilions open up to the park that is anchored by a central water feature complete with water jets, seating, perennial plantings, trees, and public art.
