Question and Answers

What is something that surprised you at the start of your career? or What is something that surprises you about being a Landscape Architect?

What surprised me most was learning that landscape architecture is only partly about design; it also requires coordination, problem-solving, diplomacy, and the occasional polite defence of a tree as though it were part of the family.

What are you passionate about as a Landscape Architect?

I am passionate about creating landscapes that bring lasting value to people and place—spaces that are functional, resilient, and meaningful. For me, the most rewarding work is shaping environments that serve communities well and endure over time.

What advice would you give a new Landscape Architect?

Stay curious, stay patient, and learn how things are built. Listen carefully, value site experience, and remember that landscape architecture is both creative and responsible; true success lies in creating places that endure and serve well.
