Opportunity Description:
51 Avenue Reconstruction
Sealed Tenders, clearly marked as to content, will be received by Engineering & Development, Wetaskiwin City Hall, 4705 – 50 Ave, Wetaskiwin, Alberta, T9A 0R8 up to 2:00:00 pm hours local time on Tuesday, November 27, 2018, for the “51 Avenue Reconstruction, City of Wetaskiwin”. The time will be conclusively determined using the National Research Council of Canada Webclock at http://time5.nrc.ca/webclock_e.shtml.
All tenders will be EVALUATED, see section 00 21 13 for instructions. The final results will not be released by the City.
The Work to be undertaken is generally described as 51 Avenue Reconstruction in the City of Wetaskiwin and includes the following scope of work:
• Removal and Disposal of various sections of existing Concrete Curb & Gutter and Concrete Surfaces, including the Removal and Disposal of existing Catch Basins, Catch Basin Leads, watermains, wastewater main, manholes, and service connections.
• Remove & Dispose Full-Depth Asphalt 4,750 m2
• Excavation (Common, Borrow, and Unsuitable Materials) 6,100 m3
• Prepared Subgrade (150mm depth) 4,800 m2
• Remove, Salvage & Install Reuse Gravel Base Course 900 m3
• Granular Base Course - Supply and Install (Des 3, Class 20) 2,000 t
• Asphalt Concrete Pavement (ACO) – Supply & Install 1,200 t
• Supply & Install various Concrete Curbs & Gutters 550 lm
• Supply and Install Concrete Sidewalk, Curb Ramps, Driveways (Single, Shared & Modified) and Class ‘B’ Roadway Fill.
• Water Distribution System including removal of existing Mains, Connections, and Valves. installation of new Mains, Service Connections, Valves, Tees, Reducers, and Couplers.
• Wastewater Distribution System including installation of new Mains, Service Connections, and Manholes.
• Stormwater Management System including storm mains, catch basin leads,
• Rain Garden LID System including soil cells, soil mix, geo-membrane, drainage pipes, irrigation pipes and connections.
• Landscape works including boulevard or ornamental trees, shrubs, perennials & grasses, and site furniture such as benches and a bike rack
• Coordination and Liaison with Franchise Utility owners and operators. (By Others)
• Coordination of Signing & Pavement Markings with City. (By City)

A bid bond or certified cheque for the amount of ten percent (10%) of the Tender Price is to accompany each Tender. Submission of a Tender by the Bidder gives the City the right to require the Bidder to execute the Contract and to perform the Work as set out within the Tender Documents. Tenders may not be withdrawn at or after the Tender submittal deadline and will be irrevocable and open for acceptance by the City for a period of sixty (60) days following the Tender submittal deadline.
The bidder acknowledges and will be willing to accept the role of prime contractor pursuant to the occupational health and safety act requirements and by submission of a bid acknowledges that it has the capability of fulfilling this requirement.
The deadline for contractor questions will be received up to 4:30:00pm local time, Thursday, November 22, 2018. Any questions received after this time will remain unanswered.
