About groundcubed

We at groundcubed are a creative crew of landscape architects, planners, and designers that works hard and has fun. We are growing our Bow Valley studio in the heart of Canmore and we’re looking for a Landscape Architect/Designer who loves the mountains and working in one of the world’s most spectacular landscapes as much as we do. 

We are passionate about good design and contributing to beautiful, safe and accessible human and natural environments and we work on a wide range of public realm, planning and landscape and community design projects taking them from early concepts and master plans through detailed design and construction. The groundcubed team believes in collaboration, thoughtfulness and building strong relationships both within our studio and with our clients and partners. With other studios in Calgary, Edmonton and Coeur D’Alene, we are actively working on projects that are regional, national and international.

What We Need

We are growing and have lots of exciting projects on the go!  We have a need for two positions to lead and support our growing portfolio in and around the Bow Valley at our Canmore studio.  We need people with experience who live here or are willing to move - If you like to work hard, have fun and contribute your energy to a positive work culture, groundcubed might be the perfect workplace for you!

What You Bring

  1.  Landscape Designer/Landscape Architect 
  • Entrepreneurial energy and excitement about mentorship, contributing to a growing business and leading a growing land development portfolio and a mix of creative and technical skills
  • A Bachelor or Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture
  • 3-7 years of experience working on land development, construction and/or planning projects as well as strong project management and construction management skills
  • A solid understanding of landscape construction methods and materials, construction document preparation and planning processes
  • High proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suites, and 3D rendering and modeling software
  • Desire to make positive contributions to business development, our team, and the ability to work independently and in a group setting
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively liaise with clients, project partners and our groundcubed team
  • A valid driver’s license
  • You like dogs and having fun
