THE OPPORTUNITY
Looking to do what you love at a dynamic and Innovative consulting firm? Ecora is looking for a Landscape Technologist to join the Landscape Architecture department at our Kelowna location on a permanent full-time basis.
Ecora is committed to creating and delivering exceptional quality service to our valued clients and has extensive experience delivering of landscape, parks, and urban design master plans, coupled with community and public engagement efforts, site design from conceptual design through construction administration and project delivery on a variety of settings and scale-levels, from private development projects through public and municipal projects. Ecora provides consulting services to provincial government, municipalities, First Nation communities, resource industry companies, architects, developers, and contracting firms throughout British Columbia.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepare technical packages and working drawings, including landscape plans, details, construction contract documents and specifications, as required, in collaboration with landscape designer or landscape architect lead.
Conduct quantity assessments and provide cost estimates.
Communicate with suppliers, contractors, and team members to advance projects.
Compile data and background documents to support project planning and development.
Create graphics for design presentations, reports, and public meetings.
Perform site inventory, observations, and assist in construction contract administration.
· Undertake general professional duties as required to support the landscape designer or landscape architect lead in progressing and advancing project deliverables.
QUALIFICATIONS
Diploma in Landscape Architectural Technology or a degree in a related field with transferable technical skills.
Minimum three years of professional experience in landscape architecture or design, with previous experience as a Landscape Architectural Technologist or Designer preferred.
High proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Vectorworks Landmark. Additional proficiency in AutoCAD LandFX would be highly desirable.
High Proficiency in using SketchUp, Microsoft Office software, and Adobe Suite graphics software (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
Strong understanding of construction techniques, contract documents, and construction detailing related to landscape architecture.
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks effectively, and meet deadlines.
Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment both independently and collectively, demonstrating good interpersonal skills and organizational abilities.
Capacity to liaise with other professional disciplines, approving agencies, and municipal authorities, building strong relationships and facilitating project approvals is desirable.
NICE TO HAVES:
Membership or eligibility with relevant professional associations (e.g., AALA, BCSLA) is desirable, reflecting a commitment to professional development and industry standards.
