Question and Answers
After graduation, what was the first position you had? How did that shape where you are now as a Landscape Architect?
I worked in Landscape Construction at the beginning of my career. During this time I learned the fundamentals of how to build what I was designing. This has been instrumental on how I create construction details as well as understand the project process from the construction side.
What is something that surprised you at the start of your career? or What is something that surprises you about being a Landscape Architect?
The versatility of a Landscape Architect and the different avenues this profession can explore. There is no one-size-fits-all approach and each project has unique opportunities to showcase innovative design.
What are some of your roles and responsibilities?
From the beginning this includes client liaison and public engagement to set the project up on the right foot. I am involved in the conceptual design, detailed design and construction documents throughout the planning phase. I oversee and project manage the landscape aspect of the design and perform contract management duties throughout construction to completion.
