Question and Answers

After graduation, what was the first position you had? How did that shape where you are now as a Landscape Architect?

My first job was with a Japanese Gardener who taught me how things should be maintained and constructed properly, with attention to detail. This led to me to employment as an LAT which gave me a good technical grounding before moving into higher education and then training / work as a landscape architect.

Tell us about some of the exciting projects you have been a part of.

- House for An Art Lover ( Charles Rennie Mackintosh designed building) Glasgow, UK
- Kibble Palace and Royal Botanical Gardens, Glasgow, UK
- Ted and Lois Hole Healing Garden, Green Roof, Edmonton, AB
-Nikka Yuko Japanese Garden Master Plan, Lethbridge, AB

What advice would you give a new Landscape Architect?

Get your hands dirty first! Spend time working in landscape maintenance and construction to understand the how things are constructed.

What are your future goals?

More work with students.
