After graduation, what was the first position you had? How did that shape where you are now as a Student - LAT?

Landscape Technician I for the City of Edmonton. I worked in this position for 2 months before I became an LAT with the city. During my short time in the role, I was able to gain understanding of the city's landscape design and construction standards, connect with industry professionals, and experience the processes of CCC and FAC landscape inspections from a municipal perspective.

What is something that surprised you at the start of your career? or What is something that surprises you about being a Student - LAT?

I've been surprised by the diversity of professional opportunities that exist.

What skills do you feel are important to have as a Student - LAT?

Ability to give and receive feedback
Open communication and transparency
Willingness to collaborate with other people and organizations
