To continue my professional growth and development while collaborating with like-minded individuals at my employer, WSP Canada (Edmonton). The opportunities for growth are endless, and I hope to also pursue the path of being an LA by furthering my education. |
My passion for Landscape Architecture has always stemmed from my love of design. I have always enjoyed experimenting with different colors, textures, shapes, and sizes, as well as the seemingly endless possibilities when it comes to arranging objects in a space. It wasn't until I began softscaping that I found a true enjoyment in working outdoors with various plant materials and realized I could combine my eye for design with my connection to nature through the field of Landscape Architecture. It was the perfect fit for me to express my creativity! Since then, I have been driven by my desire to create functional, inclusive, and beautiful landscapes that transform and preserve the environment while exciting others as much as it excites me.
Be vocal, be seen, and be engaged! Not just present!
As a recent graduate, it quickly became an essential part of my academic journey to not only be an active and curious listener but even more so a motivated and excited participant. Being a part of the LAT community at NAIT was a wonderful experience that helped me stay engaged and connected with students, teachers, and professionals within the industry. By attending social events, and even planning them myself as the former President of LATTS (Landscape Architectural Student Society), I not only made wonderful memories within those 2 years but further broadened my knowledge of the field and the opportunities that await.
So with that, I encourage everyone to do their best and dive head first into what you're doing. Say yes to that little bit of extra work, the after-school/work events, online presentations, and volunteer experiences. Make the most out of your time, wherever you are! You truly never know who you'll meet, the knowledge you'll gain, and the skills you'll build along the way.
As my landscape architecture journey continues to grow, I look forward to the opportunity to collaborate with unique individuals, engage and listen to diverse communities, and push the boundaries of beautiful, inclusive designs.
I hope to express my creativity through landscape designs that inspire and sustain both people and nature through various career opportunities while continuing to grow my landscaping and maintenance company. I hope to one day have my designs admired and showcased for others to enjoy and learn from :)
