Future Ambitions

I hold a Bachelor of Environmental Design with a focus in Landscape + Urbanism (2016), and a Master of Landscape Architecture (2020) from the University of Manitoba.

I started my landscape design business, Open Air Collective, in Grande Prairie and Edmonton, AB focusing on residential consulting and design. My knowledge base stemmed from my previous experience with an Interior Designer (2014-2017) and a landscape contractor (2018-2020).

Working through my LARE and professional practice experience, I gained my designation as a Landscape Architect in March 2026.

My experience with Al-Terra has allowed me to contribute to a variety of work from public spaces and multifamily residential development to restoration and construction administration while actively working toward my professional LA milestone.

I bring a deep passion for landscape architecture as a form of public infrastructure that enhances communities and promotes well‑being. I continue to grow through continuing education, professional practice, and learning from inspiring peers in our industry.

Question and Answers

After graduation, what was the first position you had? How did that shape where you are now as a Landscape Architect?

I worked with a landscape contractor as a designer and estimator on residential projects. This experience helped me understand how drawings translate into on-site installation and strengthened my awareness of practical design applications. The exposure to construction administration and field work has shaped how I communicate and collaborate with contractors in my work today.

What skills do you feel are important to have as a Landscape Architect?

Speaking up and advocating for landscape architecture within multidisciplinary teams is essential, along with the confidence to support decisions that prioritize long-term performance and value.

What are you passionate about as a Landscape Architect?

I bring a deep passion for landscape architecture as a form of public infrastructure that enhances communities and promotes well‑being. I am especially drawn to work that encourages people to spend time outdoors and connect with their surroundings. Outside of work, I enjoy exploring with my dogs, which is a constant reminder of how valuable and meaningful those everyday connections to the open air can be.
