Someone who understands the nuances of a small firm and wants to participate in keeping the shop interesting and engaging. This is quite important to us.

We have an immediate opportunity for a Landscape Architect (or Landscape Architectural Technician / Designer, let’s not limit ourselves here) to join our team.

We offer the opportunity for collaboration on projects from start to finish; responsibility, authority, and accountability the results that go along with it. To the right person, that can be incredibly liberating. It can scare the daylights out of most other people. Which one are you?

  • Undergraduate degree (at a minimum) in landscape architecture or technologist diploma
  • A mature outlook and an eagerness to learn.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, adept at tackling both technical and design challenges.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Can’t stress that enough.
  • Good time management skills prioritizing tasks and deadlines effectively (this is a big one).
  • Understanding of the important of project fee budgets
  • Ability to liaise with other professional disciplines, approving agencies and municipal authorities; building relationships is key.
  • Outstanding client service cultivating and maintaining positive client relationships.

What we need:

  • Good working knowledge of project management processes, landscape construction techniques, materials, and detailing.
  • Demonstrated expertise in technical design, cost estimates, construction drawing and specification packages.
  • Effectively communicate design concepts through written and graphic media.
  • Proficiency in graphic tools including Sketchup, Adobe Creative Suite, and Rhino.
  • GIS experience would be an asset.
  • Familiarity with our CADD software of choice Vectorworks, is an asset. But that’s a completely teachable skill.
