In summer 2017, the Edmonton Heritage Council (EHC) is engaging with numerous communities to co-create a new vision for Edmonton Maps Heritage (EMH). EHC’s goal is to build a mapping platform and an online community in which every Edmonton will be excited to contribute and explore. We are seeking your input on what shape this website should take, from its content to its features.
Since 2011, Edmonton Maps Heritage has been an interactive mapping website that provides crowd-sourced information on heritage locations important to Edmonton’s numerous communities. Despite increasingly diverse content, EMH is becoming limited in its ability to collect content, share stories and encourage active conversation. We anticipate a website redesign in the next 12-18 months, and with your thoughts, we can build a platform where all Edmontonians feel empowered to put themselves on the map of local heritage.
