Lemay + Toker's Landscape Architecture Studio in Calgary has an opportunity for a highly motivated and knowledgeable Landscape Architect, with experience in private and public realm projects. The ideal candidate will be an organized individual who can work independently in a dynamic team environment on a diverse range of projects and tasks that include: context-specific site analysis and data collection, conceptual design, design development, detailed design, preparation of construction documents, project management, cost estimating, client contact, and construction administration. 

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Confer with public and private sector clients, engineers, and building architects on projects
  • Review background reports related to projects
  • Prepare analysis of land conditions and design programming influences
  • Coordinate site and landscape design programming with layout of existing and proposed landscape features and complementary structures
  • Select appropriate materials for landscape and urban designs
  • Prepare graphic representations using Adobe Creative Suite, Autodesk Revit, Autodesk AutoCAD
  • Deliver presentations about projects and approach to design process leading to desired outcomes
  • Prepare and finalize layout, grading, planting plans, with details, specifications, and cost estimates
  • Inspect landscape and urban design work to ensure adherence


  • Bachelor or Master’s in Landscape Architecture from accredited post-secondary institution
  • LEED® AP status an asset, however not required
  • High level of skills in Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite software are required
  • Experience in Sketch-Up and Adobe Suite (Photoshop, InDesign + Illustrator are required)
  • 3-5 years directly related experience, preferably in a consulting environment
  • Experience in LandFX software, preferred but not required
  • Experience in ArcGIS software, preferred but not required
  • Takes an innovative and creative approach to strategically solving context-sensitive challenges
  • Project-specific leadership-ability in sound judgment, discretion, and professional integrity
  • Collaborative and confident in meeting project expectations
  • Self-starter and design lead with entrepreneurial spirit
  • Competitive and results driven
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to innovatively represent the company and project team in a professional, engaging manner with clients, regulators and project stakeholders
