NAK Design Strategies is a professional landscape architectural consulting firm specializing in landscape architecture and urban design, open space planning and community planning. Our design and working philosophy is to provide quality service, promote an open dialogue of ideas, develop innovative, unique and attractive designs, and to explore cost effective design solutions.

Expanding our boundaries, NAK’s Calgary Studio is currently seeking motivated Landscape Architects and Intermediate CAD Design Technologists in the role of Project Manager.  Our Calgary Studio offers successful candidates endless opportunities to participate in all facets of multiple projects; from design development, contract administration to construction site management. We are very open to bringing the successful candidate onboard in our Toronto offices and transferring to Calgary upon successful completion of the probation period.

Education/ Work Experience:  Bachelor of Landscape Architecture, Masters of Landscape Architecture, or related diplomas and degrees, with 5+ years of design, project management and municipal approvals experience is preferred.

  • Certification with AALA/OALA/BCLA
  • LEED Certification 
  • PMP Credentials
  • A valid driver’s license.

We are looking for a candidate who:

  • Demonstrates proficiency in generating consistently high-quality design work, and design presentation using with AutoCAD, and related design computer generated programs (Photoshop, Illustrator, Sketch Up, Civil 3D considered an asset)
  • Has an advanced understanding of design process, and can swiftly and accurately arrive at well resolved design solutions on a consistent basis.
  • Has a keen interest and/or experience working in Alberta’s landscape architectural, horticulture, parks planning, architectural and/or land development industry 
  • Exhibits detailed oriented and organizational skills to prepare project cost estimates, schedules, tender documents and contract administration documentation
  • Has a strong knowledge of the Land Development and Municipal approval process. Demonstrated experience in other jurisdictions will also be considered for out-of-region applicants
  • Has experience directing and coordinating small design teams and collaborating with related design professions
  • Demonstrates effective time-management and consistency in meeting performance targets and municipal/client standards, and working with limited supervision
  • Possesses proficient verbal and written communication skills
  • Follows through with commitment in providing exceptional client service
