Qualifications: University Degree in Landscape Architecture / Diploma in Landscape Architectural Technology plus minimum three years of related experience and a valid driver’s license and vehicle are required.

As the Senior Park Development Planner you will be directly responsible for developing innovative conceptual plans that will guide the revitalization and redevelopment of Alberta Parks’ campgrounds, trails and other facility areas, while respecting the special nature of these provincially significant sites.
In addition to personally designing the layout of park facilities to ensure quality visitor experiences in an environmentally sustainable manner, the Senior Park Development Planner will be responsible for budgeting, scheduling and facilitating conceptual planning and design work carried out by staff, consultants and contractors. Demonstrated technical and communication (visual, written and verbal) skills are needed to effectively participate in public consultations or on committees to ensure that the interests and responsibilities of Alberta Parks are properly and fairly executed.
To be successful you will have a passion for parks and the outdoors, an aptitude for creative and innovative solutions and enjoy working in a team environment. You will have some experience in the areas of construction and project management in environmentally sensitive areas such as parks, demonstrated proficiency with Autodesk’s CAD products, and an eye for good design.
Qualifications: University graduation in a related field plus four years of related experience is required. Equivalencies of a two-year technical diploma in a related field (i.e. Landscape Architecture or Civil Engineering) plus six years of related experiences will be considered. Applied experience with AutoCAD is required. Experience with Autodesk Civil 3D, Map and/or 3DS Max is an asset. A valid Class 5 driver’s licence and the ability to travel are required.
Notes: This is a temporary position anticipated until March 31, 2014. Final candidates will be required to undergo a security screening. This competition may be used to fill future vacancies. Candidates with lesser qualifications may be considered at a lower classification and salary.
Salary Range: $2,496.56 – $3,272.65 bi-weekly ($65,160.22 – $85,416.17 annually).
